February 9th

This morning we had library.  We learned about our Mrs. Hudson's nonfiction reading challenge.  It begins on Monday!  We hope Team Lewis wins!!  Keep reading, guys!  The reading logs are going home TODAY!  Hang them on the fridge so you don't forget.  

We had a short quiz in Math.  We also wrapped up Chapter 9.  We are going to be reviewing tomorrow, and testing Wednesday or Thursday.  

We had our Social Studies test.  Fingers crossed for good test scores for Team Lewis!

During our DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time, we found some awesome new spots to read in -- our chairs flipped!  We can bring in a pillow if we want it to be comfier!  (Pictures will be posted in the next post!)

Hello, Team Lewis! 

Today we took our reading, English & spelling tests. Ms. Lewis is still grading them. We got to have a homework reward today. We played Apples to Apples. It was hilarious! Paige won the most rounds, Austin came in second place. Everyone had fun! We hope that everyone gets to play next Friday! Do your homework!!!!!

Hello!  

Hope you are all staying warm & safe in this snow storm!  We got a LOT done in 202 today, despite the delay.  Because we had quite a bit to fit in, there is a decent amount of homework. 

Journals DID NOT go home today, as I did not have the time to check them.  

We are starting a Reflex Math Challenge.  I challenge the students of 202 to work on Reflex Math for AT LEAST 15 minutes per night!!!  GET IT, 202!!!

Hi 202! We are learning about the water cycle in Science. We bull dozed the land in our stream table & then made a warm body of water. We covered our stream table with plastic wrap. After 5 minutes of letting the water evaporate, we saw "clouds" form. Then, we put an ice pack above the land to create a cold front. The "clouds" got too heavy & it began to rain. It wasn't a perfect experiment, as the water wasn't hot enough & the ice not cold enough, but we saw the process! 

The 9 weeks ends on Wednesday!  READ FOR AR!!!!!!

Tuesday, January 20th, 2015

Hello! In 202 today we watched Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech. We should be thinking about our dreams so we can write an essay. Did you know segregation only ended 50 years ago?! We also started a project about countries we have read about in Reading. The countries are Iceland, Borneo and Vietnam. 

Our HW for reading is 10 AR points due Jan. 28; for English 4 journals and packet due Fri.; Spelling 4x each & packet due Friday; Math pages 527-528 in your packet. 

Scholastic book orders are due tomorrow!! There are some great books in the order! Don't forget, we need 15 AR points in the 3rd nine weeks! 

Pretzel day money is due tomorrow!! $1.25!!

Sorry for the homework hiatus on the blog last week. Monday I had 6th grade act practice after school, Tuesday my sisters twins were born, Wednesday & Thursday, I had talent show after school. Life can return back to normal now!

Even with the delay, we got a lot done in 202 today!  I hope that you all made it to where you needed to go safely!  Ice is no fun!!  

In Reading, we are going to be learning about an American boy who travels to meet his mother's family in Vietnam.  

In English & Spelling, we are working on abbreviations!  

In Science, we created models of the 4 types of clouds: Stratus, Cumulus, Cumulonimbus (Nimbus) & Cirrus!  They turned out AWESOME!  Once the glue is dried & the clouds are hung, pictures to come!

I'm not sure it could have been any colder this morning!  I hope you have all been staying warm!  Please be sure your kids are leaving the house bundled up!  I will do my best to make sure they are all leaving here bundled up as well!  Don't need anyone getting sick -- we have the big show coming up!  

We are ALMOST complete with the dance!  It is so exciting seeing it all coming together.  The kids are working very hard on it!  I think you will be extremely entertained on the 16th!!
